Spitbank Fort outing 2005

It was a lovely sunny day in August when a motley crew of Lions and friends boarded the Jenny M bound for Spitbank Fort. There was plenty of time for a drink or a wander around the fort before the excellent lunch was served.

Afterwards a guided tour was on offer - this proved to be extremely interesting. The guide was so knowledgeable about the history of the fort, which was fascinating. There was then time to relax and enjoy the fabulous views before heading back on the rather more crowded Jenny M. It had been a superb experience, which we all enjoyed - even the more reluctant sailors amongst us! A well organised trip on a perfect day.
