Stubbington Fayre.
August bank holiday marked the climax of the many
months hard work and planning that had gone into this years Stubbington
Fayre. The day started at 6:00am with the marking out of the pitches,
setting up of the arena and many other tasks that had to be performed,
this was followed by a short but very sharp downpour before the
sun came out and the stall holders and public arrived and the procession
lit up the streets.
Opened by the mayor of Fareham, Stubbington Fayre
proved another huge success, a large number of charities and voluntary
organisations benefited from a fantastic attendance and a great
family day out. A few of the many events included Train Rides, Children's
play areas, arena events, over 120 stalls, Punch and Judy, games
and displays, refreshments, street procession and classic cars.
The Donkey Derby was as popular as ever with the places filled very
early on.
